What the Gate code actually gives you

The Gate code applies a 20% fee discount, and which market you trade decides whether that is a good deal or an irrelevance.

Gate's futures rates are excellent, 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker, matching Binance and OKX — so 20% off those is a real saving on a competitive base. Its spot rate is 0.20% at VIP 0, double the industry norm and the highest of any offshore venue here. A 20% discount on 0.20% still leaves you paying more than the undiscounted rate at most competitors.

The 0.09% spot figure quoted almost universally for Gate is the rate after holding GT, its own token. It is reachable, but it is not what your account is charged on day one, and a referral code does not get you there. If you trade spot in size and have no intention of holding GT, the code does not rescue the fee.

How to make sure the Gate code applies

  1. Sign up through the referral link

Gate carries the referral code in the signup URL. It binds at registration and cannot be added to an existing account.

  2. Verify the code appears before submitting

Check the referral field on the registration form. If the link did not carry the code through, enter it manually.

  3. Complete verification

Gate requires identity verification for higher withdrawal limits and for fiat access. Complete it before depositing.

  4. Enable withdrawal whitelisting

Add your withdrawal addresses to the whitelist so that funds can only be sent to destinations you have pre-approved.
