Coinone fees and review

Base fee of 0.20%, with a voucher that takes it to 0.04%, the gap worth more than the invite reward.

Invite code

This code is not carried in a link. Register first, then enter the code in the invite field inside the app, see the steps below.

Both parties receive a small signup reward once the invited user completes identity verification and begins trading. The ongoing fee rebate is paid daily thereafter, at the split fixed to the code used.

South Korea only

Coinone is a Korean won-market exchange. Registration requires a Korean real-name bank account and resident verification, so it is not open to residents of other countries.

Review

Coinone is a licensed Korean won-market exchange operating since 2014, trading spot only against the won. The base fee is 0.20% for both maker and taker, which together with Gopax is the highest of the Korean venues here. The 0.04% figure that follows Coinone around is the voucher rate. A discount you issue yourself, not what a new account trades at. This site quotes every venue at what it charges without a token holding or a separate issuance, the same reason Binance is listed at 0.10% rather than the BNB-discounted 0.075%. If you do use the voucher, your real cost is far below the number in the table.

Its invite programme is structurally different from every other Korean exchange, and this is the reason the exchange is worth attention here. Alongside a small signup reward for both parties, the inviter receives a share of the invitee's trading fees on an ongoing basis, and critically, the inviter chooses how that share is split between the two of them when creating the code.

That split is enforced by Coinone, not promised by whoever gave you the code. This is an unusual property: on every other exchange, any claim that an affiliate is passing rebates back to you is a claim you have to take on trust and cannot verify. Here the percentage is a property of the code itself.

A single account can create multiple invite codes with different splits. If this page shows you a choice of rebate levels, pick the one you want; if it shows a single code, the split fixed to that code is what applies. Codes that have already been used to register cannot be deleted, so whatever is published here stays valid over time.

The same hard constraint applies as with every Korean venue: registration requires Korean residency, Korean identity verification and a Korean bank account in your own name. There is no way around this, and it is regulatory rather than a matter of exchange policy.

What it does well

  • Voucher takes the fee to 0.04%, the joint-lowest in Korea, and it is free to issue
  • Voucher is free to issue and applies across every listing, with no renewal to remember
  • Issuing a voucher brings the rate down to 0.04% across all listings, among the lowest in Korea
  • Rebates settle daily
  • Licensed, regulated Korean venue operating since 2014

Where it falls short

  • Requires Korean residency and a Korean real-name bank account
  • Base fee of 0.20% is among the highest in Korea, five times Bithumb's unless you use the voucher
  • Spot trading only; no futures or leverage
  • Fewer listed assets than Bithumb

How to register with the Coinone code

  1. Confirm you meet the Korean residency requirement

A Korean mobile number, Korean identity verification and a bank account in your own name at a Korean bank are all required. There is no alternative route.

  2. Issue the fee voucher after signing up

The voucher, not the invite code, is where the money is at Coinone. Issuing it drops the fee on every listing from 0.20% to 0.04% immediately. Skip it and you pay the base rate.

  3. Enter the code during registration

Coinone shows an invite code field on the signup screen. Confirm the code is entered there before completing registration; it cannot be added afterwards.

  4. Complete identity verification and start trading

The signup reward is released once verification is complete and you begin trading. Amounts and qualifying conditions are revised periodically. The figure shown in the app when you register is the one that applies.

Coinone FAQ

What is the Coinone trading fee?
The base rate is 0.20% for both maker and taker. Issuing a voucher applies 0.04% across all listings immediately, which is among the lowest in Korea. The comparison table on this site shows the base rate, because that is what applies without an issuance or a token holding.
Can I use Coinone from outside South Korea?
No. Korean real-name transaction rules require a verified bank account at a Korean bank along with Korean resident identity verification.
