Risk disclosure

Trading cryptocurrency carries substantial risk
Cryptocurrency prices are volatile and can move sharply in either direction with little warning. You can lose money, and you can lose all of it. Past performance of any asset, strategy or trader tells you nothing reliable about future results.
Nothing on this site is investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any asset, or a solicitation to trade. We compare fees and referral terms. We do not know your circumstances and are not in a position to advise you.
Leverage multiplies losses as readily as gains
Most exchanges compared here offer leveraged perpetual futures, some at very high multiples. Leverage magnifies both directions equally. A position at high leverage can be liquidated by a price move small enough to be unremarkable on an ordinary trading day, and liquidation means losing the margin backing that position.
Trading leveraged derivatives is not suitable for most people. If you do not understand exactly how liquidation price, maintenance margin and funding rates work on the specific product you are trading, you are not in a position to manage the risk.
Counterparty and custody risk
Funds held on a centralised exchange are held by that exchange, not by you. Exchanges have failed, frozen withdrawals, been hacked, and been shut down by regulators. This is a recurring feature of the sector, not a historical curiosity.
Assets you are not actively trading are safer in self-custody. Keep only what you are using on an exchange.
Regulation and access differ by jurisdiction
The legal status of cryptocurrency trading, and of the specific exchanges listed here, varies by country and changes. Some venues do not accept residents of certain jurisdictions, and enforce that at identity verification rather than registration. Meaning an account can be frozen after funds have been deposited.
It is your responsibility to determine whether you may lawfully use a given service where you live, and to meet any tax obligations arising from your trading.
