We earn a commission when you register through a link on this site. It costs you nothing extra. The referral discount is applied to your fees regardless. Information only. Not investment advice.
What the Korbit code actually gives you
Entering a referral code at Korbit registration pays a signup reward worth around 5,000 KRW. It is a one-off payment and it does not change your fee afterwards, so treat it as a small bonus rather than a reason to choose the venue.
The reason to choose Korbit is the fee plan, which the code has nothing to do with. Korbit is the only Korean exchange that lets you select your own schedule: 0.05% flat on the Lowest Price plan, or 0.15% taker with maker orders paid 0.01% on the Maker Reward plan. Neither needs a token or a purchase, and nothing has to be renewed.
That last point is what makes Korbit the cheapest Korean venue for anyone who does not want to manage a coupon. Bithumb and Coinone can go lower, but only while you keep a coupon or voucher active. Korbit's 0.05% simply stays.
How to make sure the Korbit code applies
Enter the referral code during registration
Korbit does not carry the code in a link. You have to type it into the referral field in the signup flow, and it cannot be applied retroactively once the account exists.
Confirm you meet the Korean residency requirement
Korean identity verification, a Korean mobile number and a bank account in your own name at a Korean bank are all required.
Complete registration and identity verification
Verification must be finished before deposits and trading are enabled.
Pick the fee plan that matches how you trade
Market orders mostly? Take the Lowest Price plan at a flat 0.05%. Building positions with resting limit orders? Take the Maker Reward plan, which pays you 0.01% on makers and charges 0.15% on takers. Leaving the default in place can cost you real money, so check it after signing up.
